Its a wrap!
For now, anyways
I think there will be a few more days in January. The freerunning day got cancelled due to lack of sleep for the crew, and one of the actors pulling something and having to go to hospital.
But its been an amazing experience.Fantastic crew to work with, and as I have kept saying....what we have shot looks AMAZING!!! All cool camera angles in crispy high-def. Can't wait to see it finished.
Plus there will be the inevitable wrap party somewhere in London town. And that I dont want to miss!
We spent the final day in London filming in Trafalgar square with Chucky Venn and Danny Young, both of whom were great fun. Then we ended the day in a house on Cadogen Square in Chelsea - which was probably the most expensive house I have ever been in! lol And that was the end of that!
So fingers crossed that Destiny comes off and I am involved with it.
Cameras rolling! Sound speeding! And....ACTION!

Joyeux Noel
Happy Christmas everyone.
Hopefully in the next few days I can catch up on my blog, and even my life. Both of which seem to have been on hold for the past 6 weeks.
I hope everyone had a brilliant one!

Lab hunting
We filmed at JEOL UK www.jeoluk.com in Welwyn Garden City this weekend. JEOL UK are makers of super powerful electron-microscopes, mass spectrometers, and other seriously high-end technical nick-nacks. They make microscopes 6 feet high costing £500K. Actually they make one in Japan that is 40 feet high and takes 2 years to build, but not in Welwyn Garden City! lol As a bit of a science geek I loved seeing these things in action.
We needed a genetics lab (2 in fact), and after a tip-off from a colleague I went to see the nice gents in WGC to let us film in their offices/showroom. Some of the room were kitted out full lab style and were perfect for us. Brilliantly they said yes! :)
Plus we were filming with Gary Kemp and Jamie Murray (who so seriously rocked in Dexter season 2 (fully recomended by yours truely)). A great location and cool weekend.
And Jamie Murray was totally gorgeous and thoroughly charming :)
PS. We wrapped tonight! More later!

Final Furlong
We are into the final straight. We wrap in a couple of days. I have laned some fantastic locations, and the footage we've got looks AMAZING!
Filmingh a Great Leighs with all the cast was a great day, but a bloody long one too! But I got to watch a race run from the top of the camera tower and the view was fantastic.
Over Christmas I will do a big catch up post (after I have slept, of course!).
Until then!! Sleeeeeeeeep!!!!!!!!!

Top Blokes
Filming is still a crazy madhouse, but I am loving it.
Totally knackered but also riding the wave ok (so far!). My car has become the latest victim of this shoot. A small fender-bender turned into a write-off when an old man in a classic Bentley ran into the back of me and crushed my poor little Fiesta! I'm fine and dandy, but the car is an insurance write-off; the bunch of dirty, money grabbing bastards! Eh, Nick lol ;)
So I am now the proud owner of a maroon M reg Ford Mondeo lol. A bargain at £300. But I need a car with this job so not complaining.
We've filmed at some amazing places like the maze at Leeds Castle and Great Leighs racecourse, and I've met some great actors like Colin Salmon and Danny Dyer who both turned out to be great fun and very professional. Plus loads of other great actors as well.
So all is good. I should be back home on the 23rd. This would be fine if I didnt have to do nearly all my Christmas shopping then. But such is life. Beats working in an office even if my day is nowhere near ending today lol
But cant wait for a good chill-out and catch up on sleep.
Must. Sleep. Soon.

New haircut
Not normally a topic I would blog about, but as I havent changed my hair style in 18 years (funnily enough the same time I became a raver lol), I thought it was blog-worthy.
The lovely makeup girls on The Rapture, Emma and Elena, cut and styled my hair in about 7 mins flat! They offered me the chance to go back to my usual style-free do, and maybe trendy it up. So I thought I would give it a whirl!
So viola! New hair do lol. Apparently I look younger, and that's never a bad thing! Me likee!

Basildon Bond
In the end the wonderful people at Kudos Aviation pulled every string they could and got us into their private hangar for free! Gawd bless 'em!
It was a quality couple of days playing with private jets, "techno-cranes" (super zippy things that make the camera go places you wouldnt believe), and helicopters.
Saturday had us filming with the wonderful Stephen Berkoff, who was a legend and so cool to watch work. What we shot with him looks AMAZING!
Next off to Southend museum for more shenanigans! Lasers! Smoke! Rick Assessments! Cant wait lol
And yes, I look like a twat with that Astin, but it was such a lovely car!Its not my fault I don't photograph well! lol

Southend airport don't like filmmakers
So I gather by the fact they are trying to charge us £250 per hour + VAT just to be on the airport premises. Even though we are actually going to be filming a private jet ( yum yum lol ;) ) and that lives on someone else's private property. We want to be there 2 days, so you do the maths!
But as the private hangar is in the Southend airport complex they are saying that we must be escorted at all times at the cost of £250 ph + VAT!!! Plus 50% extra if we run over 6pm. Bloody hell!!
The very nice people from Kudos Aviation are fighting our corner for us as well, so if we're lucky the price will come down a bit. Hope so, coz this could cost us too much. We're still a low budget indy flick.
Heavens save us from money hungry people!
PS. Tonight I am staying at Hanbury Manor http://www.marriott.co.uk/hotels/travel/stngs-hanbury-manor-a-marriott-hotel-and-country-club/ . We film our helicopter landing scene tomorrow night. Its a hard life ;)

Today I met Martin Kemp
And what a thoroughly nice bloke he seemed. Very professional, and great fun to watch. He is playing a shady character (of course), and it was great fun to watch him work.
I also met Billy Murray (who is a producer as well), and a very nice bloke called Ian Virgo who has been in alsorts of good stuff. He stayed at our crew house one night and bought us all Chinese. A sure fire way to make friends! lol
Filming in Central London tomorrow. Down Fleet Street. Hmmmm! lol. Wish me luck!
PS. Here is a couple more pics of the coin boys geek toys lol.
