Autumnal Equinox

These 2 fantastic photos are of the Sun and the Moon at the Autumnal Equinox.

The first is Equinox sunrise as seen from the Shuttle cargo bay.

The second is the Harvest Moon, so named as the farmers could work late into the night using the Moonlight (which is, of course, sunlight reflected off the surface of the Moon).

Next up is the Winter Solstice, then.......Ho Ho Ho

Happy Christmas! Now wheres the year gone, Kasia?

Working later in the night because of moonlight? Now 'that' is living in tune with nature. I love it. We live by very artificial rythms now. Electric lights whenever we want them, at any hour of the night. No wonder we're all over the place :D

Merry Christmas to you ,too! :)
The moon picture is absolutely stunning. I've never seen the moon so big! Is this possible?

Its with a clever zoom. Because the cactus and trees are in silloutte, you cant see that they are out of focus. Clever little photography trick :)
